The “EU Arab World Summit: Partners for Growth and Development” was held at the Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall, on 3-4 November 2016. The First Euro-Arab World Summit laid the foundation for a more lively and meaningful Euro-Arab dialogue. Issues discussed, among other, involved: the shifting to a new paradigm as regards the European – Arab partnership; the making of a new economy in Greece; the economic transformation in the Arab world; building a new potential in energy, and the potential of Greece for business and investments. Greek PM Mr. Alexis Tsipras delivered an opening address at the Summit. The summit was attended by members of the Greek government and states people, officials from the Arab countries, honorary members of the European Commission as well as business representatives from the European Union and the Arab world. DEPA was represented by Dr. Dr. Kostas Karayannakos, Executive Director, Gas Supply, Commercial and International Activities.
