It was the 8th season for the rally (4-5 October), which is part of the World Alternative Fuels Car Rally. This year\u2019s participants were 22 vehicles with alternative energy propulsion and Greek and foreign crews.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Having as a starting and finish point Syntagma Square, this year\u2019s participations showed to the public and connoisseurs of cars the use of alternative fuels. \u2018FISIKON\u2019 participated in the rally with two factory bi-fuel CNG cars (Compressed Natural Gas): an AUDI A3 1,4 G-TRON and a VOLKSWAGEN GOLF VARIANT 1,4 demonstrating compressed natural gas not only as an environmental-friendly fuel of high performance but also as the most economical, according to the economical category. More specifically: In the first and second place in the economical category were the two bi-fuel CNG and gas \u201cFISIKON\u201d cars with <strong>AUDI A3 1.4 G-TRON<\/strong>, N. Papapaschos (driver) and G. Tsimenoglou (co-driver), first and <strong>VOLKSWAGEN GOLF VARIANT 1.4<\/strong>,\u00a0with Th. Papapaschos (driver) and D. Stergiotis (co-driver), second. The vehicles\u2019 consumptions for the 548 km of the rally were:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1.<strong>\u00a0AUDI A3 1.4 G-TRON:<\/strong>\u00a016.61 kg CNG and 2.29 lt gas, of total cost\u00a0<strong>\u20ac 19.56<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2.\u00a0<strong>VOLKSWAGEN GOLF VARIANT 1.4:<\/strong> 18.9 kg CNG and 3.64 lt gas, of total cost\u00a0<strong>\u20ac 21.59<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The third car in the economical category, an LPG-gas MAZDA 6, had almost the double consumption for the same distance. \u201cFisikon\u201d, the natural gas for vehicle power, is more economical when compared with the other conventional fuels and it is also safe, cannot be adulterated and is the most environmental-friendly fuel due to the reduced emissions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DEPA is developing a network of \u201cFisikon\u201d stations in Athens, Thessaloniki and other big urban centers wishing to promote the idea of economical and clean gas-powered vehicles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 8th \u2018HiTech EKO Mobility Rally\u2019\u00a0ranked \u201cFISIKON\u201d as the most economical fuel for gas-powered vehicles for the second consecutive year.
