{"id":5110,"date":"2011-09-26T13:30:42","date_gmt":"2011-09-26T13:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/188.164.206.52\/?p=5110"},"modified":"2011-09-26T13:30:42","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T13:30:42","slug":"depa-itgi-promises-shortest-lead-time-for-azeri-gas-to-reach-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.depa.gr\/en\/depa-itgi-promises-shortest-lead-time-for-azeri-gas-to-reach-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"DEPA: ITGI Promises Shortest Lead Time for Azeri Gas to Reach Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Baku, 26 September 2011: Speaking at the Gas Infrastructure World conference in Baku last week, Harry Sachinis, Chairman and CEO of DEPA, the Public Gas Corporation of Greece, confirmed that the ITGI system will get Azeri gas to Europe in the shortest possible time.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Referring to the signing of a transit agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkey, Mr. Sachinis said:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>&#8220;We\u2019re looking forward to the signing of the transit agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkey. This agreement will open the Southern Corridor by immediately providing the opportunity for a direct supply agreement which will allow the transit of gas from Azerbaijan to Greece, Bulgaria and beyond as early as 2013\/2014 through IGB; and by transiting gas from Shah Deniz II through ITGI as soon as it\u2019s available in 2017\/2018\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/i><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Sachinis told the audience of leading figures from the Caspian energy sector that beyond IGB, ITGI is the most mature project of those planning to carry SD2 gas.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>\u201cITGI\u2019s 10 bcma capacity closely matches the volumes that will be available from Shah Deniz II, enabling Azeri gas to be delivered to European markets as soon as it becomes available.\u00a0 Also, we have successfully concluded an eight month detailed Marine Survey for IGI Poseidon, the offshore section of the ITGI pipeline connecting the Greek and Italian gas transportation systems. \u201d<\/i><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to technical strengths, the ITGI system also has its agreements and permits in place:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>\u201cThe ITGI pipeline has secured Third Party Access exemption for 8 bcma, confirmed by the EU.\u00a0 Unlike other proposed pipeline projects, all the environmental licenses have already been issued for ITGI.\u201d <\/i>said Mr. Sachinis.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Sachinis added that ITGI is the only project that, due to its technical maturity and regulatory progress, can ensure alignment with the timeline of the Shah Deniz II full field development.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baku, 26 September 2011: Speaking at the Gas Infrastructure World conference in Baku last week, Harry Sachinis, Chairman and CEO of DEPA, the Public Gas Corporation<span class=\"excerpt-hellip\"> [\u2026]<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[37],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5110","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-press-releases"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.8 -
