{"id":21768,"date":"2026-09-18T13:55:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T10:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.depa.gr\/?p=21768"},"modified":"2026-10-22T13:57:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T10:57:08","slug":"depa-commercial-strategic-partnership-with-aktor-to-develop-221-1-mw-of-hybrid-renewable-energy-projects-and-250-mw-of-energy-storage-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.depa.gr\/en\/depa-commercial-strategic-partnership-with-aktor-to-develop-221-1-mw-of-hybrid-renewable-energy-projects-and-250-mw-of-energy-storage-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"DEPA Commercial: Strategic Partnership with AKTOR to Develop 221.1 MW of Hybrid Renewable Energy Projects and 250 MW of Energy Storage Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Athens, 18 September 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DEPA Commercial continues to make strong progress in implementing \u00a0its renewable energy investment plan in Western Macedonia and Farsala<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DEPA Commercial<\/strong> has signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with <strong>AKTOR Renewables<\/strong>, a wholly owned subsidiary of AKTOR Group, for a strategic partnership to develop <strong>a specific portfolio of renewable energy and electricity storage projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU provides for the proposed acquisition by AKTOR Renewables, subject to the relevant corporate approvals, of a <strong>51% stake in the companies developing these projects<\/strong>. <strong>DEPA Commercial will retain the remaining 49% stake<\/strong>, and the two parties will work together to advance the development and implementation of the projects<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under the partnership, DEPA Commercial will manage the electricity generated by the projects<\/strong>, drawing on its expertise and experience in the energy market. This role further strengthens the company\u2019s presence in the electricity market and confirms its strategic direction towards a stronger position in green energy, <strong>across the full value chain, from development and generation to management and commercial utilisation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the agreement covers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hybrid renewable energy projects<\/strong> developed by DEPA Commercial\u2019s subsidiary <strong>NEW SPES CONCEPT<\/strong> in Central Greece (Boeotia, Phocis and Aetolia-Acarnania), Thessaly (Larissa) and the Peloponnese (Achaea). These combine photovoltaic plants with a total installed capacity of <strong>221.1 MW<\/strong> and battery energy storage systems with a maximum power injection capacity of <strong>221.1 MW<\/strong>. Environmental approvals have been issued for the projects, and applications for Final Connection Offers have been submitted for the photovoltaic plants; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Standalone battery energy storage projects<\/strong> with a total maximum power injection capacity of <strong>250 MW<\/strong> in Western Macedonia (Kozani), Thessaly (Larissa) and Central Greece (Phocis). These projects have also secured the required environmental approvals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The agreement forms part of DEPA Commercial\u2019s strategy to <strong>capitalise on synergies and build strong business partnerships<\/strong>, with the aim of accelerating the development of both mature and emerging energy projects.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its vertical integration strategy and transformation into an integrated energy group, DEPA Commercial <strong>continues to independently develop and implement the core renewable energy portfolio that remains under its control<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This portfolio includes, among others, projects with a total capacity of <strong>500 MW in Western Macedonia through NORTH SOLAR<\/strong>, of which <strong>400 MW<\/strong> are now under construction, as well as a photovoltaic project of approximately <strong>96 MW in the Farsala area<\/strong> through NORTH SOLAR 1.
