Larissa, May 21, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today, the Shareholders Agreement was signed for the implementation of one of the largest energy investments in Greece, with a total value of approximately \u20ac600 million, between Clavenia Ltd, DEPA Commercial<\/strong>, EUSIF Larissa S.A., and Volton S.A., for their joint participation in LARISSA CCGT S.A.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The company is developing a natural gas-fired power generation unit with a net capacity of 792 MW in the Larissa Industrial Area. The project has obtained all necessary permits and is ready to proceed with construction following the Final Investment Decision (FID) of the shareholders.<\/p>\n

The new unit is expected to become the most efficient combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant in Greece, with a net thermal efficiency of 62.6%, utilizing advanced Mitsubishi Heavy Industries technology, specifically the M701JAC model.<\/p>\n

DEPA Commercial<\/strong> will act as the energy manager and handle the commercial natural gas supply for the unit\u2019s operation.<\/p>\n

After the signing, the following statements were made:<\/p>\n

Stavros Papastavrou, Minister of Environment and Energy:<\/strong>
\n“Today marks the signing of a major investment for Larissa, Thessaly, and the country as a whole. This is a new natural gas power generation unit that will create jobs, enhance competition, and lead to lower electricity prices for consumers. It is a strategic investment for the country\u2019s energy security and strengthens Thessaly\u2019s role on the national and European energy map. We support every initiative promoting the energy transition toward a sustainable development model, serving both people and the environment.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Nikos Tsafos, Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy:<\/strong>
\n“This investment strengthens the resilience of our energy system and expands competition in electricity generation\u2014factors that will lead to lower prices for consumers. It also represents another step in DEPA\u2019s evolution into a comprehensive energy player with a key role in Greece and the broader Southeastern European region.”<\/em><\/p>\n
